About this Episode

Preacher: Joel Fair
Scripture: Luke 2:10-12

Luke 2:10–12 (ESV)
And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”

Paul David Tripp - Do You Believe?
"What needed to be done, no human being could do. What needed to be done, God would have to do in a triad of glorious miracles of grace: the incarnation of the Son, his perfect life and acceptable sacrifice, and his resurrection victory. It is only in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus that the tension is ended. In Jesus God’s perfect justice and forgiving mercy kiss. So a substitute was needed, a second Adam, who would live the righteous life that the first Adam sadly failed to live. It is important to note that the substitutionary work of Jesus Christ did not begin with his suffering and death, but with his birth."

John 4:42 (ESV)
They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.”

Titus 2:13 (ESV)
waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

Mark 8:29 (ESV)
And he asked them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him, “You are the Christ.”

Philippians 2:9–11 (ESV)
Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
